RBK wants Russell
By Håvard Lindheim, 22 March 2004, 10:28

Rosenborg wants the Sogndal defender Robbie Russell to Lerkendal. Lars Blixt might end up in Sogndal as part of a trade.

"They have contacted us, and we have had discussions, but for now the player does not want to go to Rosenborg. Seeing this we have not proceeded with the talks" says director of Sogndal, Svein Bakke, to norwegian daily VG.

Still the American, who can have a carreer at the national team, does not rule out a transfer to RBK:

"At the moment I am happy to be in Sogndal, but I will evaluate all offers that mighht come. I hope to go to a larger club this year, to increase my chances to play in the national squad. Rosenborg might be interesting too," says Robbie Russell.

The 24-year old can play in different positions in the defence and the midfield, though during the three seasons at Fosshaugane he has mostly been used as a rightfield back. According to VG, Rosenborg wants a deal where Sogndal gets Lars Blixt and a certain transfer sum in exchange for Russell.
