Fears he misses opening match

Vidar Riseth received a highly questionable red card in yesterday's friendly against Hammarby. If the referee reports this booking, the opening match of the Tippeligaen will happen without Riseth.

It was in a duel with Hammarby forward Pablo Piñones-Arce in the first half that Riseth saw the red card.
"The most hopeless red card I have ever been shown. Me and the Hammarby forward just ran into eachother. And when the referee came with his red card, I was certain that it was for the forward, not me," Vidar Riseth says to Norwegian daily Dagbladet.
The incident concluded with opposite team Hammarby's coach Anders Linderoth asking referee Leif Sundell to let RBK put in Torjus Hansén, so that the game could continue with two full teams.
"This says it all, how hopeless the decision was," the RBK defender feels.
Referee Sundell had no knowledge about the Norwegian rule that states that bookings in friendly matches can lead to a suspension period in the league. According to local Trondheim paper Adresseavisen, the pipe blower felt sorry when he learned of this rule.
"If the red card is included in the match report, I might have to suffer a suspention for the first match of the league. But the referee said he should give it some thought, and I have a good hope that he does not report the incident," Vidar Riseth says.
