Chief Executive of Rosenborg, Nils Skutle, says that Lerkendal might get a roof in place as soon as next summer.
IMPROVEMENTS WILL COME: This is what the grass of Lerkendal looked like before the RBK - Benfica game in March. In coming years such conditions shall be avoided.
This means Skutle speeds up the plans. When he commented this issue in February, he imagined the roof to be in place at the end of the decade.
Today's Royal League press conference showed a more optimistic Chief Executive. "We are dabbling with Lerkendal roof plans. If we can manage it economically, it might stand ready as soon as next autumn," Skutle said at Ullevaal.
In this case we follow where other stadiums have lead. Among others, The Park in Copenhagen, Amsterdam Arena in Holland, Arena AufShcalke in Gelsenkirchen, Germany and Gelredome in Arnhem, Holland has this type of removable roof.
Rosenborg will on a side note improve playing conditions the coming spring and summer. During the last few weeks, a light rig, which makes the grass grow faster, has been tested, and the grass itself will be replaced during the summer break.
