Revenge against Molde
By Håvard Lindheim, 12 May 2004, 10:14

After the great humiliation against Tromsø, Ola By Rise and the Rosenborg players now look forward to Sunday's match against Molde. Then RBK shall prove that one still is Norway's best football team.

HUMILIATED: Ola By Rise's men were sunk by Tromsø.

"I can not remember the last time anyone humiliated RBK in this way. Ok, we lost big to Stabæk last year, but then the season was in a sense over for us anyway. This is not the case now," Ola By Rise says to Norwegian daily Aftenposten.

"This match shows that we have so much to work on. It bordered to the embarassing. Our play looks dull and boring, and we were lucky to not have several more goals against us," the RBK boss says to Trondheim newspaper Adresseavisa.

Strained
Rosenborg were really perplexed at Alfheim, and Christer Basma thinks the team gave a strained impression.

"We play football with little risk. As a result, we create nothing. It feels like we are afraid to lose, and that just won't do in this game," the left back says to Norwegian daily VG.

His fellow defender Erik Hoftun is also ashamed.

"Especially the first half was bad. We have no calmness, and we do not play the ball like we can. The way we acted gave Tromsø self confidence," Hoftun says.

Satisfaction at Sunday
The captain believes in great improvements already the coming weekend, and promises a May 16th party against Molde. (May 17th is Norway's national day, which is greatly celebrated all over the country; May 16th is traditionally a day for football events - especially in Trondheim.)

"The smartest thing we can do is to come back and revenge ourselves on Molde the 16th of May," Erik Hoftun ascertains.

Ola By Rise, too, is looking forward to Sunday's Lerkendal match.

"We must look at ourselves and try to fix what went wrong. There is no reason to be depressed or dig trenches for ourselves. Now we shall work. The Molde match shall show a different side of this team," By Rise says to Trondheim newspaper Adressa.
