Now Russell wants to go to RBK

This winter, Robbie Russell was highly wanted by Rosenborg, but a possible transfer shipwrecked because the Sogndal player himself did not want it. Now, the left back has changed opinion - a change that makes Rune Bratseth happy.
Sogndal Sports Firector Svein Bakke confirms that it was the player and not the club that turned the offer down last time.
"At that point, Russell wanted to stay here in the club," Bakke says to Norwegian daily Dagbladet.
But now Robbie Russell, that has changed role from midfielder to left back during the Sogndal years, wants to go to Lerkendal:
"The time may be right for me to move on. I have been here for four years now, and came here to develop further. Rosenborg is the best club in Scandinavia, and an offer from them would be more than welcome," the American National team player says.
This is music in Rune Bratseth's ears. When autumn comes, Rosenborg will be one right back short when Lars Blixt (probably) leaves, and at the same time, the 24-year old will reduce greatly the average of the defending line-up if he manages to grab the place from Christer Basma.
"To us, Russell still is a highly interesting player, and he is on our list," Bratseth confirms.
The transfer windows reopens July 1st, as known; and the weeks preceding the Champions Leage qualifications' start at July 28th it is expected that RBK will get 2-3 new players.
