Levanger - Rosenborg 2-7

Levanger had a thundering opening on their home field, but Rosenborg were merciless in their counterstrike. As a result, the first cup match at home ground is due Thursday next week.
A whooping 3250 spectators - a number like the one the Oslo club Lyn has on their home matches - were present at Moan when the best team from North Trøndelag County met the best team from their neighbouring county in the south. How many that had LFK as their favourite team shall remain a secret...
The fans of both the home- and the away team (and probably many that actually likes both) almost coughed on their coffee when Levanger took the lead 1-0 after some minutes. Bjørn Arve Lund scored the goal.
But Rosenborg, tough lacking National team players Christer Basma and Jan Gunnar Solli as well as the injured Roar Strand and Dagfinn Enerly, struck back effectively. Harald Brattbakk immediately evened the account, and during the fifteen minutes preceding the break, Brattbakk scored another time, while Frode Johnsen and Azar Karadas made one and two goals respectively.
Half time then saw 5-1 to Rosenborg. Levanger were not totally out of it, tough, and continued making chances. On one of these, Per Verner Rønning reduced to 2-5. RBK on their side were not as hot on the goal in the second half, but captain Erik Hoftun managed to enter the list of goalscorers anyway, before Brattbakk settled the final result to 2-7 with his third goal of the day.
The 3rd round of the Norwegian Cup is set up on Friday. After two away matches, the Tippeliga teams this time gets a home match. The matches are supposed to be played at June 9th, but then RBK plays a regular Tippeliga match against Bodø/Glimt (moved due to the work with new grass on Lerkendal). Rosenborg will play the cup match Thursday June 3rd instead.
