It was expected that Sheriff should get an easy match against the rather weak guests from Luxembourg, and so it went.
The defender Yury Priganyuk gave Sheriff the lead after 32 minutes played, while the striker Teimuraz Burnadze set the final 2-0 result with his score after 67 minutes at Bolshaya Sportivnaya Arena.
Second leg will be played at Stade de la Frontiére, Esch-sur-Alzette in Luxembourg coming Wednesday.
The combined winner will meet Rosenborg in the 2nd qualifying stage. First match is to be played at Lerkendal, Wed July 28th at 20.45, while the second leg will be played at Wed Aug 4th.
Head of Sports of the broadcaster TV3, Stian Aune Kleppo, confirms to rbkweb.com that the channel has already bought the rights to the home game, and that the away game most likely will be shown by them as well.
