Roar Strand and Rosenborg has agreed upon prolonging the contract with one year. Hence, the 34-year old will stay to the end of the 2005 season - at least.
"If Roar is to get his contract renewed, he must have to stay clear of injuries and play matches," Rosenborg Sports Director Rune Bratseth said to rbkweb.com in the end of May, when Strand had been injured in almost three whole months.
Now, the situation is different for Norway's most merited footballer. The midfield veteran has been a regular on the team all summer, and now he prolongs the contract, who was to run out after this season.
"I have agreed with the club about one more year," Roar Strand confirms to local Trondheim newspaper Adresseavisa.
In that occation, Ola By Rise praises his old team mate:
"He means much to the team, the squad and everyone. As long as he is motivated to keep on playing, I think that it is important to have him along. Roar never acts like a star. He always works hard and give one hundred percent. He can come to the bench and report that he is all dry, but still run like mad for yet another fifteen minutes," the RBK boss says.
