Alexander Lund Hansen prolongs his contract. Two trips south during the winter. Roof over Lerkendal not imminent. Read all about it!
Alexander Lund Hansen - And Christian Sæther Moen Rosenborg's young keeper Alexander Lund Hansen is offered a new three year contract. It is clear that he will stay in Fredrikstad FK the coming season as well - after having done a good job there on loan this season.
The lad from Åfjord has rather impressed in FFK, and FFK coaches Drillo & Co. wanted to lend him for another half season.
Now, it seems that the goalkeeper will stay in Østfold county for the entire year. Rosenborg wants to renew his contract, which expires after the 2005 season. The deal is that FFK gets to lend Hansen for another year, and that the 22-year old commits himself to Lerkendal until the end of the 2007-season.
When it comes to Rosenborg's second lent-out player, Christian Sæther Moen, he is now back in Trondheim. The 20-year old only got two short visits on the pitch with Start in the 1st division, before he received a serious knee injury and lost the rest of the season.
Trips to the South Last winter, Rosenborg participated in a tournament at Tenerife in January, while this year one follows the tradition of travelling to Gran Canaria to parttake in the German-led Maspalomas tournament.
The team takes off from Trondheim Airport Værnes on Jan 7th. Big clubs Bayer Leverkusen, Hannover 96 and Sparta Praha are the other participants in the four nation tournament. Game dates are not yet fixed, but RBK is to play a semi final and either a bronze final or the final. As usual, EuroSport shows these games.
As February closes in, another trip down South happens. Together with the other Norwegian Royal League participants, Vålerenga IF, SK Brann and Tromsø IL, Rosenborg will stay at La Manga in Spain from January 25th to February 5th. During the first half of this stay, RBK must do without their internationals, who shall follow Åge Hareide to the Arabic peninsula and play friendlies against Bahrain and Jordan.
The La Manga stay will also contain a mini tournament. Russian Lokomotiv Moscow and Rubin Kazan are confirmed, while Swedish Halmstad and Swiss Grasshoppers are probable participants. FC Copenhagen are present too, but they shall supposedly not parttake in the tournament proper; they will play friendlies against VIF and Lokomotiv.
Roof on Lerkendal not imminent On Wednesday, the weather of Trøndelag showed how bad it can be when the Champions League match against Panathinaikos almost rained away. But still the planned roof over Lerkendal won't come shortly.
"I must admit that I tought, 'now it would have been nice with a roof' while I sat on the tribunes watching the game on Wednesday," Rosenborg President Ove Snuruås tells local Norwegian broadcaster TVTrøndelag.
The public must however be patient.
"I can't imagine a roof being in place sooner than 2-3 years," Snuruås says.
The plans to build a removable roof above Lerkendal were published last winter. Royal League, the Scandinavian tournament held during the winter, has pushed these plans on, and this autumn we saw the first scetches showing how RBK imagines it done.
"We will give a torough briefing on these plans on the firstcoming member's meeting in the club," Snuruås reveals.
The roof will be held by towers in each of the four corners of the stadium. A price tag of €6 to 12 million is suggested.
