German Hannover 96 will not be taking part of the Maspalomas tournament in january, after all. Feyenoord is to be RBK's adversary instead.
It is unclear why the Bundesliga side has withdrawn from the traditional tournament held on Gran Canaria. In any case, RBK should be happy: the 2002 UEFA cup champions Feyenoord, are undoubtedly a better matched sparring partner.
The Champions League participants Bayer Leverkusen and Sparta Prague are also taking part. The former, together with Real Madrid, advanced from their group and are now ready for knockout stage finals, while the Czechs suffered the same fate as Rosenborg yesterday, when they were knocked out of the competition.
The match programme is as follows, according to rbk.no:
Sunday 9 January Bayer Leverkusen - Feyenoord (16:15 CET)
Monday 10 January Rosenborg - Sparta Prague (20:30 CET)
In previous years the teams have also played a bronze final and a final. rbkweb.com remains uncertain as to wether this setup will be followed this year as well.
After the tournament there will be a week and a half of regular training, before RBK returns to Trondheim on the 21 or 22 January. On Friday 23 they travel to Oslo for a friendly against Skeid, before leaving yet again for the Mediterranean the day after, this time for La Manga.
