Ola By Rise has decided to restart his career as a journalist. The gold-winning coach has accepted an offer to become chief editor of the current affairs show "Her og Nå" on NRK P1 (Norwegian national broadcasting corporation's Programme 1).



Through all his years as Rosenborg goalkeeper, he combined the role with that of a journalist with Norwegian local daily Arbeider-avisa and, later, the local daily Adresseavisen. When he was brought in as assistant for Trond Sollied in 1997, his journalism had to be reduced to book reviews; mostly children's books.

Now the 43 year old makes his comeback to journalism. He will be declared 'fit for fight' with the radio broadcasting team at Trondheim's Tyholt studios on 1 February.

"I'm really looking forward to this. I've decided to completely close the door on football and give myself to journalism again, on what is for me a wholly new and challenging arena: radio and NRK P1," says By Rise to the Norwegian national broadcasting corporation NRK.

As the case was this year, Ola By Rise will be in charge at NRK as well.

"I approach this job with the utmost respect for my new colleagues. At the same time, I'm sure I have a bit of experience to offer the team, both as a journalist and as a manager," he says.
