Meniscus surgery successful

Both Frode Johnsen and Robbie Russell underwent meniscus surgery on Monday, at the Rosenborg Clinic. The operations were successful, and the duo will be back in full activity for the start of season on January 7th.
It was decided earlier this autumn that the top scorer and the rightback, who both suffer from bad knees, were to undergo corrective surgery after the end of season. Today, the time had come.
RBK’s in-house surgeon Torbjørn Grøntvedt performed both keyhole operations in quick succession. Parts of the meniscus were removed from Johnsen’s knee, but Russell got off easier:
“Robbie’s meniscus wasn’t quite as damaged, so we only needed to do some stitching in his case,” says Grøntvedt to Rosenborg’s official website.
The two players will have to be on crutches for the next few days, but after that they will be able to celebrate a crutch-free Christmas, before going to the Gran Canaria training camp after New Year.
