Ørjan: "The main objective is getting well"

Ørjan Berg takes one step at the time, and don't work hard to be ready for the opening match of the league.
The 37-year old-to-be hasn't been playing since 19 September last year, when Olivier Occean hit him hard in his left knee during the 0-3-loss against Odd Grenland. After a period of more or less failed restitutional training, the midfielder was operated on 1 November; inflamed mucous membranes were scraped off.
RBK initially had hoped to get Berg ready for the Arsenal match in London in December. When that failed, the pre-season start in January was a new goal.
Two months later, the midfield veteran still is occupied with alternative training. Wednesday, he went through special running excersises guided by RBK physiotherapist Sigbjørn Hammer, while his team mates did the normal shadow training in front of a match.
"But there is progress. My knee no longer hurts," Ørjan Berg tells rosenborg.info.
He hopes to be ready for ball practice soon.
"I might start next week," he says.
The coaches hopes to get the midfield maestro back on track before the opening match against Aalesund on 10 April. Ørjan himself doesn't want to predict anything.
"It is too early to tell wether I am well for that game or not. I take one week at the time. My goal is to have the knee completely restored, and be able to play football again," Ørjan Berg finishes.
