Trusted Ødegaard
By Håvard Lindheim, 5 August 2005, 14:19

Alexander Ødegaard most likely will play from the start against Lillestrøm on Sunday.

After Friday's training session, coach Per Joar Hansen wouldn't say that a team was picked; but the usual shadow training showed the most likely 11 to start against the Canaris.

The five in the back was as last time, with the exeption of Vidar Riseth who was placed on the right back for variation. But most likely, one starts with the same quartet as against Fredrikstad. Further up the field, one could however note some changes.

Ørjan Berg will probably make his comeback after having been injured, and hence Fredrik Winsnes is pushed out. Berg takes the central midfield, while Roar Strand and Sebastian Eguren plays running midfielders. On top we will most likely see Frode Johnsen playing the central role, while Alexander Ødegaard and Thorstein Helstad occupies the sides. This means Jan Gunnar Solli won't play from start on Sunday.

"Jan Gunnar has had some inguinal problems the past few weeks, and hasn't really been fully fit lately, so he probably won't play on Sunday," Per Joar Hansen commented to rosenborg.info.

Perry was also relieved to have Ørjan Berg available again, and during today's training session he was clear on the intention to use Berg as the central midfielder.

"Naturally, it is important for the team to have such a good player as Ørjan available. Ørjan can be used in several positions, but is probably best as the central midfielder," Perry stated.

About the same words have been used on Sebastián Eguren by many that have seen him play, but Perry opens for Eguren to be used in several positions.

"Seb can play the central midfield, as running midfielder and also as a kind of attacking midfielder," Hansen says.

Per Joar Hansen expects a tough game against Lillestrøm, but he is unsure of what tactic the away team will use.

"Lillestrøm is a traditional 4-4-2 team. We'll see wether they come out high and aggressive, or wether they choose to lay low," Perry comments.

Talks about Rosenborg have varied the formations much this seasons he ignores.

"We haven't varied out formation much. We started in 4-4-2 against Tromsø, and fell back into 4-3-3-. That's it. The great variations is something the media has manufactured," Perry ends.

Probable starting line-up:

Espen Johnsen

Bjørn Tore Kvarme - Vidar Riseth - Alejandro Lago - Mikael Dorsin

Roar Strand - Ørjan Berg - Sebastián Eguren

Alexander Ødegaard - Frode Johnsen - Thorstein Helstad
