Høgmo new head coach

The Rosenborg directors received the news of Per Joar Hansen's resignment with calm since they knew a replacement already was at hand, Per-Mathias Høgmo.
In many clubs there would have been panic if the main coach had resigned three days prior to the most important match of the year; the Champions League qualifyer against Steaua Bucuresti. In and around the RBK dressing room, however, the mood was relatively calm and quiet. The club direction seemed to have the situation under control.
"We have worked long with a solution to the coach question, and hope to be able to present it within short," RBK president Ove Snuruås (pictured) said.
1 September has been the deadline for presenting the 2006 season head coach, with Per Joar Hansen continuing as one of the alternatives. Other hot names have been Start coach Tom Nordlie and Hans Backe of FC Køpenhavn, in addition to Per-Mathias Høgmo.
"What we have been looking for is a coach for the next season. Still, we have had in mind that tonight's event could be possible," Snuruås said.
It will not be a replay of the two last hurried assignments of coaches:
"No, it will not. This time we have prepared well and used the time we have had," the president ended.
Update: Today it is official that Per-Mathias Høgmo, former coach for Tromsø IL (and more), has indeed been chosen as new head coach for Rosenborg BK. You will find more information here at rosenborg.info shortly.
