Mallorca bid for Johnsen rejected

Rosenborg confirm that Mallorca have made an official approach for Frode Johnsen. The bid was however rejected.
"The bid they made was ridiculous low. It was so low that I did not see any reason talking to Frode about it," Rosenborg's director of sports, Rune Bratseth, says to Trondheim daily Adresseavisen.
Mallorca have however not given up buying last season's topscorer in Norway. Coach Héctor Cúper has forwards like Luis García, Yoshito Okubo and Víctor in his squad, but is still looking for a new "Number 9" striker. Johnsen is supposed to be his main target.
The islanders are supposed to make a new and better bid next week after Rosenborg's return match against Steua Bucharest in the Champions League-qualifyers.
Frode Johnsen's contract expires 31 December 2008.
