STAVANGER (rosenborg.info): "This is typical for Rosenborg this year," Thorstein Helstad concluded after the match.
In heaven The away game against Viking did however start promising for Rosenborg.
"We succeed in the 1st half by playing long balls into the box and make the most of Viking's lack of pace," Per-Mathias Høgmo explains.
After 18 minutes Jan Gunnar Solli raided into the box, but was stopped by goalkeeper Anthony Basso. The ball was however free, and Thorstein Helstad could easily score 1-0.
In the 35th minute the finest goals of the match was scored: Helstad ran from Ronny Deila, and "chipped" the ball above Basso and into the net.
"I was nicely played through by Øyvind (Storflor), and it was easy for me to lob over the 'keeper. It is nice to score goals, and personally this helps in our situation," the topscorer says. Helstad now has 11 goals in 20 league matches.
In hell But just seconds after the 2-0 goal, Viking strucked back when Egil Østenstad came from offside and scored.
"They did get the early 1-2 goal they needed. In the 2nd half they began playing long balls. We lost our aggressiveness, and were pushed back," Høgmo analyses.
Rosenborg did however resist in 75 minutes, but in the end everything bursted. Allan Gaarde leveled the score, before Toni Nhleko used his knee to lob over Ivar Rønningen.
Struggles against relegation Rosenborg now have five league losses in a row, equaling the negative club record in 1977.
"We now have two very important matches against Molde and Odd. I think we in the 1st half prove we still can, but now we have to begin winning matches again," Helstad, who is suspended against Molde for 3 yellow cards, says.
NB! Frode Johnsen and Fredrik Winsnes were suspended for yellow cards, while Espen Johnsen and Christer Basma both were knee injured.
