RBK match cancelled due to political reasons

On Monday evening RBK were supposed to play against Kosovo's unofficial national team in a friendly match. The match was however cancelled by the Serbian Football Association.
Kosovo is a province in Serbia and Montenegro and it has not got a national team approved by the FIFA, but like the Sami national team, they have played a couple of friendly matches over the years. Today they were supposed to meet Rosenborg at Lerkendal, but on Friday the match was cancelled due to recommendations by the Norwegian Football Federation (NFF).
"The football association had some objections to the game. The thing is that the Kosovo team is considered a national team, even though it is not. But Rune Bratseth knows more about this than I do," Nils Skutle told Rosenborg Web.
But Rune Bratseth did not want to reveal much about the reasons for the cancellation:
"It was not fitting to play a match at that time," was all the director of sports had to say.
The NFF is supposed to have been contacted by it's Serbian sister organization, who did not want the "rebels" to play against RBK. The match became even more controversial due to the fact that today is Albania's national day.
Therefore the Kosovo Albanians are going to have to celebrate in some other way. RBK are instead going to test their shape against local team Ranheim this Tuesday.
