The RBK player is met with high expectations. Fellow Norwegians Thomas Gill, Petter Belsvik, Ståle Solbakken, Frank Strandli, Totto Dahlum, Bård Borgersen and Trond Andersen all have played well in the club, that for the moment occupies the 5th place in the Danish Superliga.
"Fredrik Winsnes is a very competent and routined player, who can add a lot to our squad. I am happy indeed that we have managed to attract a player of Winsnes' caliber," AaB Sports Director Lynge Jacobsen tells the club's home page.
It is not known what Aalborg pays for Winsnes, who had one year left of his contract with RBK. It is likely that Rosenborg let the 30-year old go cheap, after a long and faithful service.
The lad from Trondheim made his debut during summer 1997, and has since then become one of the RBK players with most routine on the team throughout history. His 173 league games has secured him the 19th spot of players with most league games for the club. In all, Winsnes got 274 matches in the black and white shirt, after an additional 58 E-cup-games, 34 Cup-games and 9 games in the Royal League. He is also a Norway international with 12 caps.
But now, club and player takes farewell. The freshly-educated doctor has been allowed to postpone the mandatory hospital internship, that all graduated medical students must go through, for five years.
Rosenborg.info wishes Fredrik good luck in Denmark!
