Giants like Disney, FIFA and Adidas are behind this feature film from a triology about the poor, Mexican boy Santiago Munez (Kuno Becker) who achieve star footballer status.
"Trims" the truth In the upcoming sequel the main character, Munez, has been sold from Newcastle United to Real Madrid, where he is teamed up with well-known faces like Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldo, Raul, David Beckham and Roberto Carlos. Rosenborg were consequently written into the script after the Champions League group draw.
"Rosenborg have a quite big role in the film. Santiago actually has to take a commercial airliner to Norway as he misses the team plane to Trondheim," Gautier tells.
In customary Hollywood-style, the reality is a bit twisted: Gratifying for all RBK supporters, this gain their favourite club. The two losses, 1-4 and 0-2, are erased.
"We let Real Madrid win 1-0 in the Bernabau and draw 0-0 at Rosenborg. Better for you then in the real matches," Nicolas Gautier smiles.
"Valuable publicity" Tourist manager Jens Fredrik von der Lippe is rejoice at this Trondheim marketing worth millions.
"Scenes from Trondheim in a Hollywood film is one of those things we marketers only dream of. This emphasize how influential the attention on Rosenborg is," von der Lippe states.
"For years we at the tourist office have noticed how well-known RBK is around in the footballing world - which is not small. The home matches attract big crowds to the city, and International opponents bring with them a lot of media people, which in addition to cover the match, make stories on Trondheim and Norway besides. This way Trondheim gain positive publicity which otherwise would be hard to get," the tourist manager ends.
