Stabæk - Rosenborg 1-1
By Endre Bakken, 5 May 2006, 11:17
RBK got better after a weak first half, but weren't able to get three points from the game at Nadderud.
Before kickoff RBK only had two victories in twelve tries away against Stabæk, and the statistic was not improved tonight.
Rosenborg tried to start offensively with Per Ciljan Skjelbred as the central offensive midfielder, but he was outrun by the home team. The duo Daniel Nannskog and Veigar Páll Gunnarson created many good chances, but Lars Hirschfeld saved the ball time and time again.
Some changes were made half time. Among other things Thorstein Helstad got to play in center. That way RBK got more speed into their still-standing attack. The reward came: Skjelbred dribbled off a few men, but was stopped. The ball luckily ended up by Øyvind Storflor, who found Thorstein Helstad in front of the goal. Last year's top goalscorer made no mistakes and scored.
RBK became more defensive after getting a goal, and they got punished for it. Stabæk got into the game again, and Christer Basma became the scapegoat on his old home pitch: He failed in a duel against Nannskog, who easily put the ball under Hirschfeld and into the net.
All things considered RBK could be content with a draw.
"Stabæk were very good, they deserve to hear so. They put pressure on us for fortyfive minutes, but we got back into the game and secured one point. We have often struggled to bring that home from Nadderud," Per-Mathias Høgmo told TV2 Zebra.
