Lyn - Rosenborg 1-2
By Endre Bakken, 22 May 2006, 09:51

RBK improved after a bad first half, and got three important points on the national arena.

Lyn dominated the first half of the match, and only a good Lars Hirschfeld kept RBK in the game. The away team were too passive and standing still too much, and bad passes were in abundance - especially Jan Gunnar Solli and Vidar Riseth made extremely many mistakes.

The aforementioned gave the ball to Stefan Gislason three times, and already the first time bad things happened: Gislason shot the ball on Bjørn Tore Kvarme's head. It ended up with Kevin Larsen, who scored.

"The first half was awful. We have to be precise with our passes. We cannot give the ball to the opponent each time we get it," a very irritated Per-Mathias Høgmo said.

The speech made during half-time and taking Solli off the pitch obviously helped. RBK entered the pitch like a new team, and only used twenty seconds to get an equalizer:

Lyn kicked off, but Rosenborg interrupted. The ball ended up with Øyvind Storflor, who moved to the middle and passed the ball to Steffen Iversen. The substitute easily scored from two meters.

The Rosenborg machine was working again, and fifteen minutes later they got another goal: Iversen shot the ball into Kristian Flittie Onstad. it went from there directly to Frode Johnsen, who put the ball in the uppermost corner of the goal from thirty meters on a true volley. Exceptional, Frode!

Lyn began the hunt for an equalizer, but RBK were very compact and did not give them much space. Alexander Tettey was very good as a central midfielder, and it did not at all seem like it was his first full game in the league. At the end of the match Lyn dominated. But Rosenborg secured the score, and the first away victory of the year.

"The victory was very important to us. We have broken a small barrier tonight. I am happy with three points," Høgmo told TV2 after the game.
