Ørjan Berg and Rosenborg has decided to continue the cooperation.
The veteran midfielder has struggled with injuries the last two years, especially the left ancle. At the same time coach Per-Mathias Høgmo has made it clear that he wishes to give young players the chance to play.
This has lead to little playtime for Berg, who has decided to not play 2nd division league games for the reserves. Therefore it was decided already in April that the player and the coach should decide his future at Lerkendal this week.
Today the decision fell: Due to playing well against Brann yesterday, it was decided that Berg will continue at RBK. His contract expires after the end of the next season.
"I wanted to continue so this is good news for me. Playing football here is fun," Ørjan Berg told Norwegian daily VG.
Despite speculations, Berg's only alternative to continuing was putting his football shoes on the shelves: he is not motivated to return to his mother-club Bodø/Glimt, which at the moment is in 1st division.
