RBK number one!
By Endre Bakken, 10 September 2006, 22:30

While Rosenborg won in Sandefjord they were unable to put on a great show, something which didn't upset coach Knut Tørum much.

SANDEFJORD (rosenborg.info): "We won 2-0 and will travel home content with three points. Apart from that there is not much to be remembered from this game. We will have to start over again Monday," was Tørum's immediate comment.

The guests from Trondheim struggled the whole match, especially after half-time.

"Sandefjord made it difficult for us. They do what they do with extreme dedication, and are hard to stop. It is easy to see why they have many points."

"At the same time we are not safe when we have the ball in the second half. On top of it all we even miss obvious chances. We will not get bigger goal scoring opportuinities than what we had in the first part of the second half. Therefore, the last twenty minutes became really exciting," Tørum continued.

Luckily Lars Hirschfeld played excellently when the home team struggled to equalize in the second half.

"Lars played a great match. "Hirschy" sets high standards for himself, and was very annoyed when he didn't do too well against Stabæk. Therefore he has practiced extra hard lately," Tørum told.

Because Lillestrøm lost and Brann aren't playing until tomorrow, RBK are now the league leaders.

"It's good to be on top, even though it is with a small margin. There will be many similar games this fall. Now we are going to reset, and then continue practicing. And then we will meet Brann in Bergen. It is a match I have been reminded of many times," Knut Tørum concluded.
