The road towards the League Gold Medal number 20 was suddenly shortened after a hard-to-obtain victory against FC Lyn Oslo.

2-1 against Lyn was the eight win in the league in a row - equal to Rosenborg's standing record. Again, Steffen Iversen was the great hero. As against Tromsø on Thursday, he fought in two goals after the break.
"He is very, very important to us. He can smell goals, and that helps inside the box. When the ball gets passed in and gets down, he's there," Knut Tørum praised after the game.
The first half was very even. But Rosenborg had both most of the gameplay and the most dangerous chances. Closest to a goal, Marek Sapara came, with a smart finish. The shot went inside the post, but keeper Eddie Gustafsson was there.
It was far from undeserved, then, that Rosenborg took the lead directly after the rest: Lyn couldn't clear off a Sapara free kick, and Øyvind Storflor managed to pass the ball back inside the field. Vidar Riseth heeled it to Iversen, who toed the elegant pass into the goal, between Gustafsson's feet.
Lyn answered directly though; Alexander Tettey lost the ball at the Oslo team's 16 meter, a counter attack was initiated, and Edu got the honour of putting the ball in the net after a nice attack.
Luckily, Iversen wasn't hard to ask tonight. Merely three minutes later, he ensured Rosenborg's victory: A very offensive Micke Dorsin passed in to the central forward, and a well-placed low shot found its way home - via both posts.
After that, there was less of the pretty football. The home team fell down, and apart from teh injury time, Lyn created most of the few chances.
"We are very tired for the last 20 minutes, and it got really hard. A defensive game from there and out, and luckily, we make it," match winner Iversen smiles.
Rosenborg hence got nine of nine in this week's matches, and has a five point lead on Brann, who plays away against Odd today Monday.
PS 1! Koppinen had to be replaced after being hit in the hip. It is unclear how serious the damage is.
PS 2! Riseth got his fifth yellow card, and is suspended for the 16th of October HamKam game.
