The athletic forward has gotten a place in the squad meeting Senegal in the qualification rounds of the African Cup. The match is to be played at home in Ouagadougou on Saturday.
The same day, Marek Sapara will play for Slovakia in an away match against Wales, while Steffen Iversen starts for Norway against Greece. Daniel Braaten and Jan Gunnar Solli sits on the bench. All these, of course, being qualification matches for the Euro 2008.
And already today at 13.30 the U21 national team plays a friendly match in Denmark. It is expected that both Per Ciljan Skjelbred and Alexander Tettey will play from start.
On a side note, Steffen Mathisen played the entire game when Norway beat San Marino 5-0 in the qualifications for the U19 European Cup.
