Yet again, RBK struggled against an Eastern European opponent.


TOUGH OPPOSITION: Andreas Nordvik and Miika Koppinen got their hands full.

0-0 against Rapid Bucuresti was followed, then, by a clear loss against the Champions League participants of Ukraine. And with that result, RBK ended last in the Maspalomas tournament.

Due to some smaller, some more serious injuries, the starting 11 yet again was new. And again, the offensive gameplay suffered. Apart from a distance shot by Abdoul Traore in the crossbar in the second half, the Norwegian league winners hardly created a chance.

Shakhtar Donetsk mostly were in full control on the field, and were a lot more dangerous in front of the goal as well. At the same time they got a bit of help from the Rosenborg players: 0-1 came when Bjørn Tore Kvarme couldn't clear away a pass from the left.

Shakhtar doubled their lead fifteen minutes from time, when Andreas Nordvik lost the ball on the opposite half. Neither Basma, Koppinen or Stoor managed to stop the following counter attack, and Alexander Lund Hansen was almost without chances in the goal.

Today, Friday, will then be the first chance for RBK to win a match in 2007; a friendly against Bodø/Glimt in the Abrahallen.
