The Finn hopes to continue his stint with RBK.
Koppinens future with Rosenborg has long been uncertain. Through this winter and spring he has been discussing an extension of his contract that expires after the end of this season. The talks collapsed, and many people predicted that Koppinens time at RBK were to end in 2008. Now the central defender reveals that they are talking again.
"Yes, I've sat down with them once more. I have never said that I do not want to stay at RBK, and it would be a shame for both Rosenborg and me if we were unable to reach an agreement," Koppinen said.
Other Scandinavian clubs revealed an interest in the player when it became clear that his future in Trondhjem was uncertain. But Koppinen is not willing to leave for just any club.
"It is like Micke Dorsin said: staying here is much better than playing for an average club in Austria or Belgium," Koppinen concluded.
