Bj�rn Tore Kvarme got a red card, when he, for the second home game in a row, caused a penalty by pulling down a player inside the box. This time it was Hans Erik Ramberg that was fouled.
Kasey Wehrman scored, and RBK had to prepare themselves for 70 tough minutes. Roy Miller was sacrificed and Kris Stadsgaard substituted him. The Dane helped RBK improve somewhat.
However, any proper play was not to be found. The passes went everywhere, and frustration increased both on the pitch and the stands.
"We tried to get the whole team working together, but lose the ball way too often," Trond Henriksen said.
A reason to cheer came right before half time, when Yssouf Kone threw himself forward and got a toe on a nice cross from Abou Traore, who had to play left back.
In the second half RBK was able to keep up some pressure against Fredrikstad, and things started to look better. After 64 minutes Per Ciljan Skjelbred was held by Fernando Wallace, after having passed the Brazilian left back. Penalty!
Like against Lyn Kone chose to only take one step towards the ball before shooting. This time it was easy to see that he intended to shoot to the left, and Lasse Staw had no problems saving the pathetic effort.
"If he had scored on the penalty the game would have looked different, but that's football," Henriksen said.
RBK didn't give up, and Didier Konan got a chance to score after an impressive raid by Skjelbred. Konan lost his man, but shot right at the goalie.
Fredrikstad took care of the oppurtunity they got when the home team started feeling sorry for themselves: Ramberg got the ball after Fredrik Stoor had forgotten to keep up the offside line, and easily rolled the ball into the goal.
RBK have three points after their three first games.
