Tynset Rosenborg 0-11
By Henning, 14 May 2008, 09:14
After a slow start, Rosenborg outplayed Tynset (from level four of the Norwegian league) in the second half.
Skjelbred celebrated as if he had scored in the cup final when he gave Rosenborg the lead after only four minutes, and some in the audience began thinking of Rosenborgs record 17-0 win against Buvik back in 2003.
However, after the early lead, the rest of the first half was all about squandered opportunities. Yssouf Kon and yvind Storflor, among others, should have scored, but Tynset goalkeeper Inge Tannneset made several decent saves, and in addition, one ball was cleared off the line.
Rosenborg did however get a second goal before the break, when Alexander Tettey finished a great display of attacking football. Kon heeled the ball to Sapara, then from Sapara directly to Skjelbred who sent Tettey through.
"Skjelbred and Tettey do not score too often, and it was about time they scored. I think we squandered too many chances. Moreover, we didnt push forward as much as I would like, our midfielders didnt give our strikers the support they should get," Henriksen said to TV2.
In the second half, Rosenborg scored no less than nine goals, most of them after crosses. Sapara got the first with a nice lob. Next John Pelu scored his first Rosenborg goal with a diving header. Then Iversen was made captain when Tettey was substituted, and perhaps that was the inspiration he needed because he scored five goals in the space of 25 minutes! The first one was a long-range shot, the next one a header, the third and the fourth were tap-ins from close-range, while his fifth goal (and Rosenborgs eleventh) was a header in stoppage time.
In between Sapara scored his second when the Tynset goalie dropped the ball without recognizing that Sapara was behind him. Finally, Pelu also got his second after converting an Aas cross.
"I am happy with our second half. The Tynset-players became tired and we played some good attacking football. I hope scoring as many goals as we did today give us some confidence before the match this weekend," Henriksen said, looking forward to the match against Lillestrm on May, 16.
Jarstein (concussion), Demidov (groin injury), and Strand (ankle injury) were unavailable for the match against Tynset. In addition, Basma was given match practice to be match fit when Stoor leaves for the Swedish Euro 2008 preparations.
