"I had a cigar yesterday when Aalborg qualified for the Champions League, and I think I will have one tonight too," a beaming Hamrén said.
Rosenborg struggled with Djurgården in the beginning, who were ahead 2-1 after the first match. A free kick from Marek Sapara and some decent shots was all RBK created until two minutes before the break: Mikael Lustig turned around, and sent a crossball with the left foot. Steffen Iversen headed the ball into the ground so that it bounced slowly into the uppermost corner of the goal.
"In the first half we had some trouble, but we got the 1-0 goal, which is always so important. Goals change games, and we saw that in the second half. After scoring another we got even more energy," Hamrén said.
But before Didier Konan sent Sapara's cross into the goal, Djurgården had begun the half by creating some major chances - where Rune Jarstein had to save one from a very short distance.
Just two minutes after Konan scored, Per Ciljan Skjelbred got a penalty after a nice raid. Iversen sent it into the net without any trouble. After that Skjelbred created 4-0 with a shot that went via the clumsy goalie Pa Dembo Touray.
Iversen got himself another penalty, by being held back, and put the ball to the right of the goalie this time.
""Svenskjävlarna" got theirs. I'm very happy that we are through to the next round," Erik Hamrén concluded.
PS! Jarstein got a cramp in his thigh after a mediocre kick out.
