Rosenborg kick off the 2007 Norwegian league away to Viking.
The premiere is set to Easter Monday 9 April.
The first home game is against Tromsø Sunday the same week, while the last is against Lyn 28 October. Rosenborg end the campaign in Ålesund - hopefully as champions.

But you just finished a league you already want to think about another championship? CL! _________________ ~GA

We want another 13-in-a-row
CL is, in my opinion, just a bonus. The Tippeligaen is most important. I look forward to next season, hopefully in a better form than in the Royal League _________________ Rosenborg, forever pride of the North!

I have a query on the expansion of the league, is the vote going ahead in March to make the league 16 teams rather than 14?
Are most not in favour of this because you are either fighting for the title or relegation, there is no middle ground?
I would be in favour of more teams if it happened, there are a few 'big' teams in the Addecoligaen. |

The next Football congress is in March 2008, so we just have to wait.
I think it is a good idea to expand the league to make some "middle ground", as you write. Far too many teams are thinking of avoiding relegation instead of improving their play; stylish football. |

Expansion would be a good idea. 30 games league is more interesting than a 26 games league.
It would also be more interesting to see a better geographically spread league. By that I mean: more teams from Mid Norway and maybe a second North Norway team. More derbies for teams such as RBK (although I guess 'derby' is a doubtful term given the distances in Norway) _________________ Rosenborg, forever pride of the North!

That the norwegian league, Tippeligaen, will most likely extend from 14 to 16 teams in 2009. |

I watched the Tromso friendly on Adressa's live broadcast, not really much to comment on other than a good finish by Traore. It looked quite cold there with snow lying around the pitch but there were still a surprising amount of spectators there!
Hard to guage the result as Tromso will not be challenging for the title surely. What are your thoughts? |

With a sucky pitch like that it becomes much harder to play proper football, something which gives the worst team the advantage. I wouldn't read too much into the result. _________________ "Nordens, nei Nord-Europas beste lag" - Dorsin.

I agree, you cant read too much out from the result. But even though Tromsø had a poor last season, they have a ratio on 2,33 per match this winter (before the rbk match) and are the therefor the best "training-match" team. |

Has Tromsø strengthened their team? Last season they did have one of the best forwards in the league (Rushfeldt-Aarst), if their defense is better organised than last season they won't get into trouble this season. _________________ Rosenborg, forever pride of the North!

They've signed Joel Lindpere and Douglas Sequeira respectively from Flora Tallin and Real Salt Lake. Sequeira played two matches in the last World Cup and could be a 'scoop' for Tromsø.
btw Anderlecht were looking at Tromsø's Ruben Yttergård Jenssen earlier this season. They just scuted him, so a transfer was never an option. |

I'm quite busy now, and I hope some of you can give this Greek journalist some hints:
Quote: | I am writing an article about the norwegian league and i need your knowledge. Which are, in your opinion, the favourites, the underdogs, the teams that may cause any surprises, the candidates for regelation. If there were any strange or funny facts during the prepearation? And something for the second division of Norway?Which are the strongest and the weakest teams |

Would this be good for Norwegian football? The Iceland premier league will probably extend from 10 to 12 teams in 2008, this will mean that some games will have to be played indoors.

I don't think that playing the season in the winter, like Premier League, is an question or a good option. In Norway, we will most likely try to play more games in the summer, when the players most likely have vacation. I also think that it will be, sometimes, played several matches in one week.
To the question if the norwegian football is earned by an extension. In my opinion norwegian football will be earned by this. M**** and Ham-Kam, who relegated to the 1.div last season, is absolutely good enough to play in the Tippeliga. So I don't think the quality in the league will be poorer, but actually better.
So I think that it would be positive for norwegian football, if NFF(The norwegian association of football) decides to extend the league. |

The first league match was less than spectacular.

All the pre-season results counted for nothing as i thought Viking played surprisingly ok with Ross in defence too.
Draw was fair overall, nice to see many goals go in elsewhere aswell. |

I find 1-1 away against Rösler's Luftwaffe as a fair result. It is not in the first round the championship is decided, and Rosenborg have always been slow starters.
Still it is important that we do not lose too many points in the next matches against Tromsø, Stabæk, Brann and Vålerengen. At least the two latter will be fighting for the gold, and should not been given points for free. |
