Any of you Scots or Irish going to London in three weeks?
I'll just ordered my airline ticket, flying in from Trondheim the morning of the match day, at Stansted 9 hours before kick off.
It's time for revenge for the defeat at Stamford Bridge in 1066! |

I would love to go however i start a new job (Aker Kvaerner, don't ask. ) on Monday 3rd. Not sure i would be able to get the Tuesday/Wednesday off!
If RBK had drawn either of the Glasgow teams i could definetly had gone. However, Wednesday the 28th of November is a fixture i might make. I nice crisp, winter's night in Trondheim would be fantastic if i can scrape together enough money to get myself to Bergen and onwards to Trondheim. I'd be looking at spending £200+ for flights and they would have to connect in Stavanger/Oslo. |

Our opponents in qualifyers, Astana and Tampere, were very weak, and we meet far better teams in the Norwegian premier division. This shows. Our away record is poor, with just one single point in the last five away matches and three months without an away win. Yesterday we lost 1-2 away to Start in Kristiansand. [video highlights]
Because of our poor performances on tour, this will be a new weak season, kind of 2005 again. That time Champions League was kind of a "sanctuary" where the players didn't feel any pressure. We did get a dream start with a 3-1 win over Olympiakos in Athens, and even though the five following matches just gave one more point, we (both club and supporters) were satisfied with the 3rd spot, going through to the 3rd round of the UEFA Cup. Four points should be our target this time too.
The players seem to have given up the Norwegian league, but that is no excuse for their poor efforts in quite a few of the matches this season. The 1st half against Start was yet an example of this, and for the first match in some time, I am very uncertain on which 11 players who will be in our starting line-up against Chelsea. I hope our coach stands up against some of the veterans with the poorest performances, making some needed changes. But I won't be very surprised if he chooses the same 11 as against Start...
Here are by the way video highlights from our qualifying matches:
* Astana - Rosenborg 1-3
* Rosenborg - Astana 7-1
* Tampere - Rosenborg 0-3
* Rosenborg - Tampere 2-0 |

Chelsea's bid for Euro glory has been snubbed by their own fans.
They have sold just 30,000 tickets for Tuesday's Champions League opener against Rosenborg, despite slashing prices.
Adult seats costing up to £65 for league games are on sale for just £36.

The Rosenborg training at Stamford Bridge is just finished. The starting line-up is:
Lars Hirschfeld
Roar Strand - Christer Basma - Miika Koppinen - Mikael Dorsin
Marek Sapara - Vidar Riseth - Alexander Tettey
Per Ciljan Skjelbred - Yssouf Kone - Abdou Razack Traore

Head coach Knut Tørum said:
"We have to take away Chelsea's strength, speed and power which is at a higher level than we normally face in Norway, but at the same time carry out our own attacks so we don't just allow Chelsea to keep coming at us. But the group is so strong it will be very difficult for us to go through."

I fear for us tonight, especially after our recent away form. Hopefully we can give a good account of ourselves. |

BTW, is it possible to buy tickets for the return leg in Lerkendal?
I am planning it but tickets might be difficult to come by for that game. |

That's near impossible I fear. Everybody wants to see that game. _________________ "Nordens, nei Nord-Europas beste lag" - Dorsin.

Oh well, guess i'll have to be the only RBK fan watching in the pub. The fans in London are noisy though, must be a good few over and those who are based in England. |

Chelsea were awful. I think if we can keep it at 0-1 until near the end, we are almost guaranteed a point which would be amazing!
What a night in Trondheim if we win, it would give us a huge boost and confidence that we could win almost every game in the league. However, long way to go yet and Chelsea have the players capable of turning around the scoreline in a few minutes.
Hopefully we can report good news at full-time though! |

I am so nervous... If we keep this till the end it would be a miracle happening in real. Forza RBK! _________________ Rosenborg, forever pride of the North!

Kvarme got underneath the cross, nice header for them though. Shame, we missed a great chance just before their goal. Traore has just missed another good chance too!
It's there for us if we want it. |

Fantastic!
Maybe we could have won it at 0-1 just after the second half but what a performance from the team. Riseth was immense, Lars dealt with everything pretty well and Roar Strand played well enough despite being injured.
Great result and offcourse Schalke lost so it's a good start. Did anyone predict we'd get anything at Chelsea?
I guess it's bad news in regards to me getting ticket for the return leg though. |
