Hello, I have few questions about the royal league

1. It is a scandinavian league, then why Iceland and Finland aren't accepted in it?

2. What goes for the winner?

3. Do the teams take the games seriously?

1. Iceland and Finland are not part of Scandinavia. It is called "Royal", because the three countries are monarchies, while Finland and Iceland are republics.

2. A fair amount of cash.

3. No, except for FCK.

I would say Rosenborg took the league fairly serious when we competed in 04/05, as the coaches wanted match training between the Champions League matches.

Prize money (in NOK):

"Start money": 1m
No. 1 in group: 1.25m
No. 2 in group: 1m
No. 3 in group: 500k

Group stage matches:
Victory : 250k
Draw: 125k

Quarter- and semifinal matches:
Victory: 400k
Draw: 200k

Final: 1m
Final victory: 2m

In addition to this the clubs can recieved bonuses for their average attendance.

Scandinavia is just Norway, Denmark and Sweden.
Finland are not a part of Scandinavia.

That's a lie.

For us (FCK)supporters, it's no more than training matches on a bit higher level.

To elaborate:

The "Scandinavian countries" are Norway, Denmark and Sweden.

The "Nordic countries" are Scandinavia plus Finland and Iceland.

But, as Wiki says, "The usage and meaning of the term outside Scandinavia is somewhat ambiguous."

I think Finnish champion and runners-up will be in Royal League next years.

Do you think that it will be possible?

There's some decent football being played (at times) in both Iceland and the faeroes, and the finnish league is probably on par with the current three (at least the top two teams would not make fools of themselves in that company). Maybe the best team from iceland and fareoes could join, expanding the roster from 12 today, to 16 (two from finland, one each from iceland, faeroes?)

It would make the competition broader in appeal. I think UEFA has already ruled out giving the winner (or 5th runner up orwhatever...) a spot in the UEFA cup. And it would fit, culturally.
