Hello everybody
I am a supporter from Club Brugge from Belgium.
What did you heard about Trond Sollied ? Can you answer me in English because i don't understand Norwegian.
We have heard here in Belgium that Trond, when your team is playing in Eindhoven (2 november) going to talk with your manager. Is there some more news from your newspapers ?

I think Belgian media is refering to this article from VG, the biggest newspaper in Norway: Vil neppe hjem nå (Will most likely not return home now)
Sollied confirms that he will talk with the Rosenborg directors when RBK travel to Eindhoven next week.
But Sollied and the newspaper more or less have the conclusion already: Sollied won't travel back to Norway; his wife, Christel, won't move to Trondheim. Therefore Sollied will stay in Club Brugge.
...but even though he rejects Rosenborg, he might be hired by some other, bigger club. Tottenham, Newcastle, Portsmouth and Schalke 04 all showed interest this summer... |

But on a side note - it is no secret that Sollied is the first choice for new manager among both the fans, the players and the rest.
Still, it doesn't seem likely that he'll come "home" just yet. |

Today he say in the newspapers, when I will i go to Rosenborg.
Sollied : Money is no problem for Rosenborg. Rosenborg can buy my contract with Club Brugge. When i will leave Bruges, I leave. But now i dont want to go away
He will only a) national coach of Norway or b) go back to Rosenborg |

It means: "Trond Sollied is our new coach" [word by word: "becomes coach"], but it isn't accurate. The poster quoted it from a radio program; it has no factual value.
Rosenborg will have talks with Sollied after our match against PSV Eindhoven on Tuesday. Noone really believes that he'll come "home" now; he'll stay in Brugge until he leaves for a bigger European club. Maybe he'll return to Norway in 10-15 years.
Still, our club administration seems to feel that there is some hope; and Sollied hasn't said that they don't have to come and talk with him, so I guess there exists a small chance ... |

In my last post in the norwegian part of this forum, I posted some links to two articles in the newspaper.
VG told that Sollied had rejected the offer from RBK. Adressa told that nothing was sure...
In other words, nothing is clear...
Arild
PS! Sorry for my bad english, but I hope you understand... |

According to different media he is saying one or more of the following:
- I will not be Rosenborgs coach from the 1st of January
- I will not leave Club Brugge in the middle of this season
- ...but I do not want to close any doors
I don't think it will happen, but the next few days will probably give us the answers.
Something completely different: How does the Brugge fans feel about Sollied in general? |

He is contested. After 5 years people know him 100%. We always know when (and whom) he will change a player. It has become dull according to some.
Also a few more technical players like Blondel and Stoica don't leave the bench, which is also not so popular. Not with the fans and not with our new technical director Marc Degryse.
But his results could hardly get better. And I still love his style of play, so he has my support.
But the recent failures in Europe (loss against Dnjepropetrovsk and Sjakthor Donetsk) have put even more pressure on his position. |

On this moment some fans love him and others don't. Sometimes he is to obstinate. He wan't change his system (4-3-3) when it is nesseceary (like the games in Ukrain, when 0-0 is a great result). That is the greatest problem with Trond.
The fans know the little problems but he let it be. And always he let play Rune Lange. How good or bad, no problem for him. He play |

Thanks for the answers, interesting read. Sollied used to be more populear, didn't he? I assume poor results in international maches is among the things that have made the opinion change its mind.
Do people feel that Rune Lange gets to play all the time just because he comes from the same country as Sollied? Silly question I suppose, you don't have to be Italian to suggest such a thing. |

| No, most think that Rune Lange always plays because of Sollieds preference for physical play. Shorter, more technical players get overlooked. |

a far as I know, dutch asistant manager Martin Jol was supposed to take controll temporealy untill a new manager was in place. But the players wanted Jol on a permanent basis, and they seem to have gotten their will.
So Trond will, at least for now, stay with Brugge. _________________ "Itj roit dåkk så langt ut på jorde at dåkk itj sjer traktor'n eingang!"
