Surprisingly, "Valencia expert" Bjørn Tore Kvarme replaces Christer Basma in the central defence against Valencia.

The 1-4 defeat at Lillestrøm was the triggering factor.
"We wanted to make a change after the match at Åråsen. Basma has played long together with Koppinen, and we have focused on continuity even though the performances have varied. Vidar (Riseth) made the best effort last time, and therefore Basma was picked," head coach Knut Tørum states.
Kvarme is the new man in defence. The former Real Sociedad player has not been a regular in the team this year, and has therefore decided to retire after the season.
"'Beto' has been the best player during training the last period, and deserves this chance at the end of his career. It is neither a drawback that he knows Spanish football after been playing there," Tørum tells.
In additon Steffen Iversen is fit for fight after his knee injury and replaces Øyvind Storflor. The rest of the team is unchanged:
