Skeid - Rosenborg 4-3
By Håvard Lindheim, 31 Januar 2005, 09:21

Christian Sæther Moen, on loan from Rosenborg, Friday night played his very first match for Skeid. The youngster marked the event by scoring the winning goal against his old teammates.

Two weeks ago, the lad from Malvik, Trøndelag, decided to go for the option of a season with 1st division football in Oslo, and Friday he made his debut for Rosenborg's new partner club.

This happened with bravado. During the last few minutes of the game, Skeid turned 2-3 to a 4-3 victory. Sæther Moen assisted the equalizing goal and put in the final 4-3 himself.

Also, Mohammed "Moa" Abdellaoui - who travels with RBK to La Manga, together with his team mate Abdurahim "Ibba" Laajab - put his mark on the game. Moa scored twice in fifteen minutes during the first half, and thus secured a 2-1 lead for the home team at half time. Another touch of RBK: Skeid had both their goalkeepers injured, so RBK third keeper Roar Husby stepped in for the evening.

Rosenborg, on their side, lacked a total of 13 players against Skeid: Espen Johnsen, Christer Basma, Øyvind Storflor and Mikael Dorsin were busy with the national teams of Norway and Sweden; while Ørjan Berg, Vidar Riseth, Robbie Russell, Miika Koppinen, Jan Gunnar Solli, Daniel Braaten, Alexander Ødegaard and Alexander Tettey all were out with injuries. Bjørn Tore Kvarme, on his side, did neither play from the start nor occupy the bench. Too early for the new defender, Per Joar Hansen tought.

Hence, RBK used four juniors during the battle in Valhall. Martin Lund (1986) and Andreas Nordvik (1987) played in the defence from start, while Michael Kleppe Jamtfall (1987) and Aksel Berget Skjølsvik (1987) both got playing time. In addition, Sivert Lund (1987) was on the bench.

"It is always interesting to let young players get their chance. Now they can show themselves, and taste what opposition a first division team gives," Per Joar Hansen told rbkweb.com before the game.

The injury-ridden RBK had problems from the very start. Before mentioned Abdellaoui led Skeid into the lead after four minutes, before Ståle Stensaas made an equalizer with a free kick from 20 metres. Some seconds thereafter, "Moa" then gave Skeid a new lead, before RBK got a better grip of things.

In the second half, Rosenborg managed to turn the game. 2-2 came when Fredrik Winsnes played Thorstein Helstad free with a 40-metre pass, and Helstad lobbed over team mate Husby in the Skeid goal. 2-3 came with Harald Brattbakk, after a good job by Jamtfall jr.

But Skeid managed to turn things their way in the end, and hence it was a defeat in Rosenborg's only match on Norwegian soil before the obligatory season starts against Esbjerg on February 12th.

PS 1! Saturday, Rosenborg went to La Manga for a week of training.

PS 2! Rosenborg supporters present reports to be displeased with the defeat, but pleased with the display shown by the young players.
