Last Wednesday Rosenborg legend Erik Hoftun declined to become an assistant coach at RBK. Instead he will take the recently available coaching job at Bodø/Glimt.
At a press conference Thursday Glimt confirmed that Haldorsen will leave his job as head coach. At the same time Hoftun was awarded a job in the coaching team next year. There is good reason to believe that he will be playing and doing the job as head coach the upcoming season. Perhaps another man will be added to the coaching team as Hoftun's equal.
"Next year Aspmyra (Glimt's homeground) is going to be a fortress. Not many teams will leave this place with league points," Hoftun promised Avisa Nordland, a regional paper.
Rosenborg wanted to bring home Hoftun and make him the new assistant coach together with the newly appointed Knut Tørum.
"It is too bad for us that he chose to stay at Glimt. We are now looking for alternatives," director of sports, Rune Bratseth told Adressa.
In addition to an assistant coach Rosenborg are also appointing a physical trainer during this winter. The current assistant coach Bjørn Hansen is retiring and Rune Skarsfjord has already become the head coach at FK Haugesund, the newly promoted first division team.
