Wolfsburg considers Bratseth
By Håvard Lindheim, 2 Januar 2006, 11:07

Woldsburg is chasing a new Sports Director. Rune Bratseth is supposedly one of the candidates.

The club is having a hard time, occupying the 13th spot in the German Bundesliga, and before Christmas they sacked both manager Holger Fach and Sports Director Thomas Strunz.

The hunt for new people is ongoing. Former Schalke coach Ralf Rangnick is mentioned for the coach job, while Bratseth and Wolfsburg's own defense veteran Stefan Schnoor are high on the list for the Sports Director job.

"Should one ask me, I would have to give it thorough consideration. For the moment, therefore, I will not comment my interest for this job," Rune Bratseth tells Wolfsburger Allgemeinen Zeitung.

The former Werder Bremen defensive gigant was wanted by Wolfsburg a year ago as well, but at that time they chose Strunz. Bratseth has earlier, due to his family, declined a similar offer from Bayer Leverkusen.
