Brøndby - Rosenborg 3-3

Per-Mathias sent in many new players in the second half, and that did cost Rosenborg the victory of this year's first match. Luckily, Yssouf Kone saved a point.
NEW RIGHT WING: Essediri made a good debut. Here, duelling with Thomas Rasmussen.
The player from Burkina Faso has been on trial with Rosenborg for some days, and in Friday's game, he entered the pitch at half time. He had a few good chances - the best one, a shot hitting the inside of the post - but it was not until two minutes into stoppage time that he got the reward after a solid African cooperation: Karim Essediri, whose Rosenborg debut was solid, made a pass from the right, and in front of the goal, Kone showed great suppleness when rising up and heading in the 3-3 goal. A great header - with a following great acrobatic fly spring!
A draw was a fair result in a match where the two teams had one half each. Thorstein Helstad did an early score after Brøndby goalkeeper Karim Zaza had to give a rebound on an Øyvind Storflor shot, and RBK kept the initiative and had full control for fifty minutes.
Substitute Miika Koppinen doubled the lead early in the second half, when he headed a Storflor free kick into the net, but after that, the Danes took control of the game. Rosenborg, more and more marked by all the reserves that were put in, were run over, and Brøndby turned 0-2 into 3-2 within 18 minutes. Unfortunately, two of the conceded goals were due to erroneous passes from an unlucky and possibly unskillful Sebastián Eguren.
Still, the final result was 3-3, and Friday's best news were the debuts of Essediri and Lars Hirschfeld. Also, Koppinen and Harald Brattbakk were back, after half a year with injuries (Koppinen) and play for Bodø/Glimt (Brattbakk).
Alexander Tettey, too, played a good match on the midfield. He got his chance as Per Ciljan Skjelbred, Ørjan Berg and Jan Gunnar Solli all were out with injuries. Especially during the first half he did well, when he and Essediri had many good combinations on the right.
PS! After the match ended, there was a penalty competition where RBK lost 4-5, as Eguren missed on his shot number three. This influences the final result of the tournament. Johnsen, Basma, Koppinen and Dorsin all scored safely from the 11 meter mark - definitely something to enjoy, after a year of failed penalties.
