Tromsø - Rosenborg 1-1
By Endre Bakken, 13 May 2006, 22:56

RBK was the best team during most of the game, but struggled with creating chances. 1-1 was therefore an okay result.

Tromsø played well the first fifteen minutes of each half, but during the last hour RBK were in control. Still the away team had great problems due to bad ballhandling and passes from Jan Gunnar Solli and captain Vidar Riseth.

Tromsø benefited from this.It gave them their very first chance and they used it for all it was worth: Riseth lost the ball to Arash Talebinejad, who passed the ball to Lars Iver Strand. He made no mistakes and easily scored.

Before this Thorstein Helstad had missed the goal when he was alone with keeper Knut Borch. The next big RBK chance came right before half time, when Mikael Dorsin got the ball back after a failed corner and and did bend a pass in the furthermost goalpost.

The home team had the best play in the opening of the second half, and man of the match, Patrice Bernier, was very close to a goal when he hit the bar. RBK fought back, and managed to establish play on the opposite half.

After 65 minutes RBK got a deserved equalizer: Øyvind Storflor easily passed two Tromsø defenders and hit the upper corner of the goal. Beautiful!

Rosenborg continued to control the game, but were not very aggressive. Substitute Alexander Tettey was the one who got closest to scoring a victory goal, when he hit the goalkeeper after a nice pass from from Storflor.

All things considered RBK did not deserve more than one point after a bad day at work.

"We give away the ball way too much, and our passing play is very unprecise. We give Tromsø too many chances, including one goal. We were not good enough. We should have gotten three points from this game to not get too far behind the best," Øyvind Storflor told TV2.
