The big, strong 29-year old was named Defender of the Year in the Major League Soccer (MLS) last year, and played against both Italy and Ghana during this summer's World Cup.

This awoke Rosenborg's interest, as the club is looking for a new central defender. According to the New York Times, RBK placed a $750,000 bid (€566,000). The bid was, however, rejected by the League Assosciation in the MLS, who controls all transfers in the US.

In the moment Conrad is recovering from a broken jaw.

"I'm well aware of Rosenborg's and other clubs' interest in me. However, my first and foremost goal is to get healthy and help lead the Wizards to the MLS Cup this fall," Jimmy Conrad states in an e-mail to local newspaper Kansas City Star.
