Rosenborg - Helsingborg 0-0
By Håvard Lindheim, 6 December 2006, 12:12

Another low-quality RBK performance, but at least the first point in the Royal League was secured.

"We can live with this performace when we consider the available players. The youngsters performed well and could show some of their abilities. If we'd scored today, I'd be super-happy," Knut Tørum claimed.

Rosenborg did lack a whooping nine players, and substitute Roar Strand was half-injured at that: Steffen Iversen, Lars Hirschfeld, Marek Sapara, Daniel Braaten, Bjørn Tore Kvarme, Yssouf Kone, Ståle Stensaas and Michael Jamtfall - neither could play.

That gave room for both Andreas Nordvik and Jahmir Hyka among the starting 11.

"They received many plusses today. At the same time, they need to see what they might improve before the next match. Both are involved in situations where we could have lost the match. The picture has nuances, but to get match practice at this level is an important step for both of them, and today, I think they used that chance well," Tørum said.

The match itself was a rather boring affair. In spite of an offensive starting 11 with Per Ciljan Skjelbred as an offensive central midfield, Rosenborg struggled to create anything apart from half-bad passes into the 16. Instead, Helsingborg were the more dangerous team - partially due to a weak defense. Several times the opponents rushed towards Alexander Lund Hansen, but the reserve goalkeeper swept everything away and was the man of the match.

"Lund did a great match today, and was where he should be, when we needed him," Tørum stated.

One point in four matches is not good enough, however, and a small miracle is needed for RBK to enter the Royal League quarter finals.
