"Genk made a concrete offer for 2.5 years," Iversen's counsellor Christian Eidem confirms to Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws.
The RBK striker is offered a yearly salary of €800,000 and a sign-on-fee of €750,000.
"He is interested. I hope it will be settled at the end of this week," Eidem says.
Rosenborg wish of course to keep their topscorer, but are not competitive when it comes to the money. Iversen has contract until December 2008, but may leave Rosenborg for free before 31 December because of a secret clause.
Director of sports Rune Bratseth hopes a new and improved contract may convince the 30-year-old to stay at Lerkendal.
"We wish to extend Steffen's stay in Trondheim for more than the two years we already had agreed on," Bratseth tells Norwegian TV2.
