RBK have won only one of the last ten away matches against Stabk, and only two out of the all-time total of thirteen matches. Luckily, Stabk move from Nadderud to Fornebu after this season, giving Rosenborg the opportunity to start from scratch.
Rosenborg find themselves third from bottom after four defeats in the first six matches of the season, only HamKam and Lillestrm have done worse.
"We havent been good enough. We simply have to accept our position," said Trond Henriksen to TV2.
Alejandro Lago and Kris Stadsgaard almost managed to neutralize Stabks superb strikers Daniel Nannskog and Vegard Pall Gunnarson. However, in the 66th minute Kris Stadsgaard was unobservant for one second and missed a long ball from Stabks left back. Daniel Nannskog welcomed the opportunity and scored his 4th goal this season.
"Our defense loses its concentration for one second and they score. It makes me angry," Henriksen said.
Rosenborg switched back to 4-3-3 before this match after playing 4-4-2 for six months. This change improved the width of Rosenborgs play, but crosses from the flank were nevertheless few and far between, mainly because wingers Per Ciljan Skjelbred and yvind Storflor were too passive. The lack of crosses made it difficult for Steffen Iversen, who in addition was far from match fit and thus unable to create any difficulties for the Stabk defense on his own.
Marek Sapara had Rosenborgs best goal-scoring opportunity in the first half of the match. Apart from that, the Slovaks main contribution was passes with the wrong address.
"We did not create many chances, but neither did they. The play was going back and forth while none of the teams managed to take advantage of those occasions when the other team were out of balance. Both teams should have done better in that respect," Henriksen claimed.
PS! Vadim Demidov had to go off due to problems with his groin. The seriousness of the injury is unknown, but he is expected to be fit for the match against Lillestrm on the 16th of May.
