Rosenborg easily went on to the third round in the Intertoto cup with a 7-1 aggregate win.
"I'm happy with many things: the collective play, how we create chances and that we get four goals. But we have to be critical: we aren't going to get that many opportunities to score against a better opposition so we to be more efficient," Erik Hamrén pointed out.
RBK had two substitutes in the starting eleven: Alexander Lund Hansen and Andreas Nordvik replaced a sick Rune Jarstein and a knee injured Vadim Demidov.
Back-up goalie Lund Hansen got attention early, when he sent a pass in the heels of an Ekranas striker. Luckily the ball bounced right back. After that RBK were in total control. The Lithuanian guests got no more chances.
Didier Konan scored RBK's first on a header following a crossball from Marek Sapara. After that Fredrik Stoor should have scored at least one goal before half time: The right back had two bad shots from two good positions - the last one he sent directly onto the goalie from five metres.
Things sped up after half time: Steffen Iversen scored on a rebound from his own finish while Yssouf Koné headed a Sapara-corner into the net.
The game was now decided, and the quality of the play sank. Still, RBK continued attacking and the audience got their entertainment.
4-0 happened into extra time when substitute and home debutant Albert Berbatovci sent a stunning cross to Koné, who sent a header indirectly into the goal.
