Sandefjord - Rosenborg 0-2
By Håvard Lindheim, 11 September 2006, 10:52

The match was boring and of low quality, but two goals and three important points were welcomed by Rosenborg.

SANDEFJORD (rosenborg.info): Before the match, big expectations were placed on Marek Sapara, and the Slovak presented a very solid debut.

"He showed proof on good understanding for the play, both with and without ball, and delivered great in his debut. He only lacked a goal, but came close both in the first and the second half," Knut Tørum told rosenborg.info.

The game itself, though, wasn't much. Neither of the teams got their gameplay flowing right. Referee Kjetil Sælen had a bad day too, and used his whistle seemingly at random.

"It was a strange game, with an incredible amount of halts, and that was bad for us. During the first half an hour none of the teams managed 3-4 passes in a row," a displeased Steffen Iversen said.

The RBK top scorer smiled more, however, after 20 minutes, when he fired a penalty shot into the corner of the net after Daniel Braaten was dragged down by Arnar Førsund.

As the game went by, both Braaten and Sapara had good chances, but Sandefjord was the more dangerous team. The home team struggled hard for an equalizer, and Lars Hirschfeld had plenty to do.

Sandefjord got Arnar Førsund showed off, and instead of 1-1 the net result was 0-2 when Øyvind Storflor tricked the ball in via the keeper and the post.

As Lillestrøm didn't play their game until eight, and Brann plays on Monday, RBK entered the lead of the table as the game kicked off. At full time, the lead had increased.

"We won two to nill, and travel home satisfied with three points. Apart from that, it wasn't much to be pleased with. We'll start practicing again on Monday," Tørum recaptured after his sixth win in a row as a RBK coach.

PS! Braaten is suspended for the next game after three yellow cards.
